The Eating Coach

Jan 3, 2018

Why Willpower is the starter motor - not the whole vehicle - of real, lasting change...and what to replace it with.

You know how exercise is a better alternative to sitting on the couch and dreaming about being fit? How applying for the job you want is a better alternative to investing in a boiler room scam? I have a similar no-brainer alternative to willpower for you today. This is both a hugely limited and massively overrated tool for change. Learn why this is, and what to replace it with. Oh go on then,  I’ll let you keep the W word if you like!

*Stupid Idea of The Week*

Or should I say Stupid quotes of the week. About...guess what?

*Main section*

Willpower is most people’s worst enemy dressed up as their greatest friend. This love affair is based on the assumption that the only thing the bulldozer of your will needs to flatten is laziness or apathy – roadblocks that do not deserve any kind of analysis. Another myth is that your conscious mind is entirely capable of controlling your body and your instincts.

In this episode, discover:

  • How you have been unwittingly training your brain to sabotage your will
  • The valid place that willpower has in achieving change
  • A reframe of willpower within the context of compulsive eating
